How ChroniQ Tours Are Created
Ever wondered what really goes into making an audio tour? Spoiler: It's not just someone reading random Wikipedia facts into a microphone! On this page we're pulling back thecurtain to show you our slightly obsessive, maybe-a-bit-crazy, but totallyworth-it, developing process.

1/ The Book Hoarding and Deep Dive Detective Phase
You can think of us as historical detectives with a slight book-buying addiction. For each new tour, we basically raid every antique bookshop, go digging through the national archives, gather around 16 - 20 books and ancient documents, in which we can immerse ourselves with life lessons of the past, ancient anecdotes, amusing medieval gossip, and intriguing events during war, rebellion and reconstruction.
We hunt down every scrap of information we can find. Old newspapers from 1880? Got 'em! Ancient court cases? You bet! We even dig through handwritten letters from 1300-1500 in multiple archives. It's like putting together a historical puzzle, except sometimes the dog really did eat the homework (we found evidence
of this in one of those court cases from 1841!).

2/ The "Walking Like Locals" Phase
We spend days wandering the villages, probably looking like lost souls. Armed with laptops, GPS recorder and more enthusiasm than sense. We create 360° videos of every route - because sometimes back in the office our memory isn't as good as we pretend it is!
When the perfect route starts to reveal itself, it’s time to go to the writing table.

3/ The creation of your tour guide
Every tour needs that perfect narrator! We spend days dreaming up characters with deep local connections; perhaps the talking salamander from the village coat of arms or the never-mentioned sister of a famous medieval poet? Then comes the alchemy: transforming dusty historical facts into juicy tales through the magic of storytelling. We blend humor with verified history like we're mixing a particularly delicious historical
cocktail. The result? Dry dates and facts become memorable stories that stick in your brain long after the tour ends!

4/ The GPS dance
Ever seen someone walking back and forth the street with 4 phones in two hands? That was probably us! We use multiple devices because GPS can be as reliable as a chocolate teapot. But hey, at least we get our steps in! This might look silly, but it's how we ensure you'll hear about that fascinating medieval scandal at exactly the right moment.

5/ The Picture-Perfect Phase
Time to make everything look gorgeous! Our two professional photographers spend days capturing the soul of each story location or route direction. They will do anything for that one amazing shot that'll make you want to book your tour ticket immediately. Yes, those photos in the app that make you go "wow!"? That's their handiwork!

6/ The Final Symphony
After 10 weeks of obsessing over every detail (and drinking way too much coffee), we create something truly magical. We bring in professional voice actors because, let's face it, nobody wants to hear our "recording-in-the-bathroom" voice quality. Then we translate everything into multiple languages and do the whole recording phase all over again. Because history sounds good in any language!

The end result?
A tour that's as entertaining as your favorite Netflix show, but with actual historical truths and okay… lot’s of funny anecdotes and medieval gossip, because what's history without a little humor? Remember: This isn't just any other audio tour; it's 10 weeks of passion, research, and slightly obsessive attention to detail. All wrapped up in a neat little package for your listening pleasure. So have fun on your journey into time and let us know you think!
